Craigslist has become quite popular with deals and hard to beat bargains. Most people selling on Craigslist are honest hard working people that are just tring to make some extra cash. Laminate floors is a very popular item that is being peddled on Craigslist. You can save a great deal of money if you find the right seller. Sow how do i know what companies to trust? Here are some warning signs that will help you avoid being scammed.

1. Seller insists on coming to your house to show you his products. He says he has a store, but keeps insisting he come to you. This is a scammer. He has no store!

2. He comes to your house with unusually low prices and pressures you to give him a cash or check deposit. Beware, this is a scammer.

Always verify a company by visiting the actual store. Shop with companies that maintain their own inventory. “Pay now, pick up now” is good to remember when shopping for floors. You can minimize your chances of getting scammed by following this advice here.

Everyones worst nightmare is to make a large deposit towards a new floor only to find out you have been scammed. This is a rare occurance but believe me, it happens. There was recently (2 weeks ago), a flooring company that was on the verge of closing. They took deposits from several customers, knowing that the store was on the verge of going under. Instead of refunding the customers deposit for these pending orders, the owner decided to pocket the money. It is sad, that people like this really exist. That is just one example of how a consumer can get scammed. So how can i minimize my chance of getting scammed? The answer is PAY YOUR DEPOSIT WITH A CREDIT CARD! If a dealer decides to run with your money, your credit card company will refund the funds and go after the merchant. If you pay with cash or check, it will be almost imposssible to get your money back. Also, try to shop with companies that have “in stock” items, so you can pick up your materials the same day.

These are particularly popular with commercial applications because of overall thickness and the AC4 rated paper that is on the surface of the laminate. All laminate floors have different quality papers that are used on the surface. The visual part of the laminate is nothing but a medium to high quality picture. The more expensive laminates use a very high grade photo image. These types of laminates cost more because of the expensive machines that are used to manufacturer this type of product.
